Grilled Asparagus Wrapped in Prosciutto

It's been nearly seven months since I wrote my last post.  There's no particular reason why I went off it.  I've just been very content with my life without thinking about anything.  I haven't had anything I don't wish to have in my life - and that's good.  Some people might gauge their level of contentment according to what they have, i.e. 'I'm happy because I have this and that' or 'I'm not happy because I don't have this and that'.

See the difference?  Positive sentence + because + positive sentence.  Negative sentence + because + negative sentence.  (I'm a language teacher and this is the only way I can explain this.)  In my case, it's 'positive sentence + because + negative sentence' or 'negative sentence + because + positive sentence'.  It's easier to feel happy this way because it's simpler to get rid of something you don't want than to gain something you want.  To me, anyway.

It's probably the amount of time I've spent in life, too.  When you are inexperienced in life there are millions of things you want to have, but as time goes by it dawns on you that 'want won't get'.  At the same time you do get wiser (unless you are very stupid).  You gain knowledge about how to solve problems, to learn to be patient, and to generally ignore stuff.

Of course there are stuff I want.  The other beautiful thing about gaining age is that I know I will get the stuff I want :)

Ingredients (for 1-2 persons):

10 asparagus spears
10 slices of Prosciutto
some olive oil

I prefer to lightly steam or parboil the asparagus first.  Just for 1 minute in salted boiling water.  Take them out into a bowl of icy water to stop cooking.  Wrap each spear with a slice of Prosciutto diagonally.  Get a grill pan very hot and grill them until partly charred.

You can put some fried eggs and Parmesan cheese on top.
